This is Definitely The Most Artistic Video From a Drone I’ve Ever Seen.

This artistic video is called “Booka Shade – Crossing Borders” and was produced by Pier Pictures. To get the “Little Big Planet” style shots, they mounted 7 GoPro cameras to the hexacopter pointed in every direction possible. After that, they stitched all of the video together in post to make one massive panoramic video. To get the aerial shots, they used Octofilms to fly and S800 hexacopter all around California.

Seeing this video makes me really want an Oculus Rift. I can imagine one day being able to use the Oculus Rift to see live panoramic video from a drone and look around in real time. Eventually, it might also be possible to view 3D panoramic video, but the amount of processing power needed to accomplish that in real time on the drone would be massive. I would guess that it might be possible in another 4 to 7 years.

If you’d like to play around with some panoramic videos, you can find one here shot a DJI F550.
