A phantom pilot was out for a morning flight, when suddenly he notices something a little out of the ordinary.

Kurt Roll was out on his boat in San Diego Calif, when suddenly he noticed smoke coming from a near by ship yard. He then decided to get out his phantom to fly over and see what was going on. After reaching the smoke he found a multi million dollar yacht completely in flames at a ship yard. Supposedly, the yacht was $24 million dollars and 110 feet long. The fire was started at around 9:15 a.m. do to a welding mistake.

The boat belonged to 79 year old Larry Jodsas. He told NBC 7 “Am I angry? No. Anger is not the right word. It was my toy, my wonderful, beautiful piece of equipment. I think it’s the most beautiful boat that ever has been built.”

Since the boat was designed to keep water out, it made putting out the fire vary hard once the firefighters had arrived. Unfortunately, after the fire the boat was completely destroyed.

The Video

To shoot the video, Kurt used a Phantom 2 with the H3-3D gimbal and a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition. This video has been spreading around the internet like a wild fire (no pun intended) and has been getting thousands of views an hour.
